How does voting work?

During the nightly Active Window, swipe right on a venue to vote for it and left to pass. Votes feed the live leaderboard for your area, so you can see where tonight's energy actually is. Your individual votes are never shown to anyone — leaderboards only display aggregated counts.

Why don't I see any venues?

PopOut builds your deck from your approximate location, so location permission must be enabled (Settings → PopOut → Location). Decks are also tied to the Active Window — outside it, the doors are closed until the next session. Coverage is rolling out city by city, so if you're in an area we haven't lit up yet, joining from the app helps us know where to go next.

How do college leaderboards work?

Verify your school by entering your .edu email in the app; we send a short-lived code to confirm it's yours. The free-text "university" field on your profile is display-only — only verified schools count for college leaderboards.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You'll see exactly what will be erased, then re-enter your password to confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent — we can't restore a deleted account, and your username is released for someone else to claim.

If you'd rather not do it yourself, email support@popouttonight.com from your account address and we'll delete it for you. Details on what we store, and what we keep after deletion, are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I report someone?

In the app, tap the button next to anyone's name — on a friend's profile, a friend request, a search result or a suggestion — and choose Report. Pick a reason (inappropriate username or photo, impersonation, harassment, spam, or something else), add any detail you want us to see, and send. The person you report is never told who reported them.

We review every report within 24 hours. Reports go to a queue only our team can read — no one else on PopOut can see that you filed one. Depending on what we find, we remove the offending username or photo, or remove the account. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior; see the Terms of Service.

If you'd rather reach a person directly, or you're reporting something urgent, email support@popouttonight.com. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

How do I block someone?

Same menu, then Block. Blocking is mutual and immediate: you and that person disappear from each other's search results, friend requests, friend lists and suggestions, and neither of you can send the other a friend request. If you were friends, blocking ends the friendship on both sides.

You can see everyone you've blocked, and unblock them, under Profile → Settings → Blocked Accounts. Unblocking lets them find you again — it does not put a friendship back. You are never shown who has blocked you.

Blocking and reporting are separate on purpose. Blocking is immediate and yours alone; reporting is what brings something to us. If someone is behaving badly, do both.
